Located in the northernmost part of North America and above the United States, Canada has the Atlantic Ocean to the east, the Pacific Ocean to the west and the Arctic Ocean to the north. It can take approximately 24 hours to drive through the United States from Texas to Canada, or you can fly for an average four to five hours with a number of airlines. You will need a valid passport to enter Canada.

How big is Canada?

The world's second-largest country after Russia, Canada covers a whopping 3.8 million square miles (or 9.9 million square kilometres). It has the world's longest coastline at 151,473 miles long, and holds more than 50% of the world's natural lakes. With a population of 38 million people (that's less than the state of California), there is far more wilderness to explore than there are people to encounter.
