Born and raised in Hong Kong to Swiss and German parents, Michelle grew up exploring Switzerland and Asia until eventually her family emigrated to Australia.
Continuing to travel extensively throughout Europe, Australia and South America, she eventually landed in Canada – the destination that stole her heart and the one she now calls home.
Travel is so embedded in Michelle's life that it's no wonder she works in tourism, however outside of the office she enjoys hiking, yoga, playing beach volleyball and snowboarding.
What is your favorite place in Canada?
My favorite place is Moraine Lake, which you can see on a rail trip into the Rockies. The stunning blue water against the amazing mountain backdrop is just what summer in the Rockies is all about. This is where I realized how beautiful Canada really is!
What is your best travel memory in Canada?
Husky dog-sledding in Whistler with my sister! We both love dogs and experiencing this thrilling ride through snow-covered trees was both breathtaking and exhilarating. A truly memorably experience!
Tell us about a special discovery that you've made in Canada.
Kayaking in the pristine waters of Deep Cove, north Vancouver. You can combine this activity with a hike up Quarry Rock, taking in more of the beautiful views and then end your day tasting some local ice-cream in the little village.
